Santa will be visiting Durango Dance again this year on Friday, December 2nd, from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Parents, drop your children off at the studio to hang out with their teachers while you get some Holiday shopping done! Games, candy canes, singing and dancing…..oh what fun!

Re-Register for Spring Semester

We have some very full classes, many with waiting lists, and we do not want you to lose your place by missing the registration deadline of Wednesday, December 14, 2011. Fall classes have priority. Please note we cannot guarantee registration for returning students who do not register by December 14th. Enclosed is a registration form. Please complete form with tuition payment and return to the Durango Dance mailbox by the studio one door or give to a teacher no later than December 14th, 2011. All class days and times will remain the same as fall 2011 schedule.

Recital Costume Fees Due

Costume fees for the Spring recital, held May 12th and 13th, are due no later than Monday, November 14th. Costumes will be ordered the week before Winter Break. Costumes will not be ordered for students who have not paid their costume fee. Students without costumes will not be allowed to perform in the recital. Please avoid disappointments! One costume fee per class:

• $60 = Pre Levels
• $70 = Freshman and Sophomore Levels
• $80 = Junior and Senior Levels

Pajama Party for Durango Dance students & visit with Santa

Class showings week of December 12th – 17th

All youth and adult classes will have informal showings the week of December 12th – 17th. Showings will take place in the front studio during the last 10 minutes of each class. These showings are very informal and everyone is welcome. So come see what your children have been learning this semester!!! We will be announcing the recital theme at our showings!

The Nutcracker

Santa Barbara, Californiaʼs acclaimed professional ballet company, State Street Ballet, will return with its touring production of the traditional “Nutcracker” for four performances. Friday, December 9, 7:00 pm Saturday, December 10, 2:00 pm; Saturday, December 10, 7:00 pm; Sunday, December 11, 2:00 pm For more information contact Fort Lewis Concert Hall. Ticket prices $25/$35. We are so excited all rehearsals are being held at Durango Dance. “Break a leg” to all of our Durango Dancerʼs who are performing this year!

New Adult Dance Class starts October 31st

We are excited to announce a new adult dance class….NIA with Evonne. Classes will be held Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sundays from 9:00 – 10:00 am! Come check it out! This semester has been so wonderful! Thank you families and friends so much for your continued support. We love dancing with each and everyone of you. Our students are learning, dancing and having so much fun! From all of us at Durango Dance, we wish you a joyous holiday season, filled with love and peace. Have a safe and unforgettable Holiday. Class Break is December 18th through January 8th. Donʼt forget classes resume Monday, January 9th.

“THE NUTCRACKER”

Please arrive early to warm up.

Dancers selected must be able to fit the available costumes and must be available for rehearsals on Friday and Sunday afternoons (except Thanksgiving weekend) beginning October 21, as well as after school December 7, 8 and during the day Friday, December 9.

Performances will be held December 9, 10, and 11 at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. Dancers selected must be able to attend ALL performances. For more information, call (970)764-7142.

I am offering a series of classes again as part of my Soul Motion leadership training apprenticeship. I am offering classes on Sunday afternoons from 2-3:30 p.m., July 31-August 28 at Durango Dance (1120 Main). I have been training and dancing all year, and depart in September for my third and final module with my teacher, Vinn Marti.

I need lots of practice facilitating, so I hope you can make at least some of the classes as I very much appreciate your participation and feedback so I continue to learn. I am still loving and am passionate about the practice of Soul Motion both on the dance floor and in my life. I look forward to sharing my passion with you. I intend to bring classes to Durango on a more regular basis after the completion of my training in early 2012.
